Principal Consultant - Merger and Acquisition

Principal Consultant responsible for managing and delivering M&A related projects, client engagement, and business development with a focus on ESG/E&S Due Diligence.
Lead, manage performance and retain, inspire and mentor team personnel for overall success
Overseeing the quantification of the financial impact of the sustainability related risk and / or opportunity and good working knowledge of financial modelling
Supporting EHS Due Diligence, investor-driven ESG/Sustainable Finance opportunity development with both existing and new clients
As a senior “seller/doer,” contribute to business development of ERM’s global M&A Solutions service area. Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take active leadership role in the development of new business, in cooperation with ERM Partners. Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business.
Implementation support for value creation plan including, capability building, driving alignment, governance set up and reporting
Support the growth and development of ERM’s capabilities related to the above-described areas by actively collaborating with colleagues across the globe and driving innovation within our practice community to stay ahead of client needs and to differentiate ERM in the market
Capitalize on existing client relationships to expand ERM’s profile and market share in the regional M&A Solutions Services market (through a combination of excellence in technical delivery and business development with existing clients)
Identify opportunities for other service lines such as services related to site remediation, compliance, management systems, outsourcing, and integration support, among others.
Provide leadership, working with project team members closely to complete tasks within project budget and time requirements and minimize project risk
The Principal Consultant is responsible for managing and delivering large, complex projects and ensure that client satisfaction are upheld through project communications and engagement as well as quality of outputs produced to deliver client service excellence.
Lead consulting engagements across the range of Environmental and Social Due Diligence and ESG Due Diligence, acting as ERM’s key point of contact with project clients, delivering excellent value and quality service.
Engage, inspire and motivate the team to achieve ERM’s goals, fostering collaborative working.

Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Excellent virtual or face-to-face presentation skills, with a firm understanding of deal dynamics for a given assignment.
Familiar with Private Equity Financial Sector in India and the region.
Familiarity with financial modelling and quantification of ESG risk and value creation opportunities
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
At least 10-15 years of relevant experience, preferred to be in consultancy with relevant project experience in ESG/E&S Due Diligence of experiences as a plus.
EHS/ESG/E&S due diligence for acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, capital raising and project finance including Equator Principal reviews
Experienced in managing a portfolio of projects;
Bachelors/ master's in business administration, Finance, Operations or Environmental Sciences or related fields.
Command over advanced excel, power point and word skills
Experience with people/team management required;
Knowledge and/or interest in corporate sustainability, sustainable finance and/or ESG data & analytics
Ability to travel, maintain flexibility in work hours and work independently with minimal supervision.
Well versed in environmental and social risk, environmental compliance, health & safety, as they relate to transaction agreements.
Excellent command of English (written and spoken);
Demonstrate familiarity with M&A market in India and the region.
Experience in end-to-end proposal and client management;
