Take a significant role in preparing cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.
Coordinate equipment deliveries and design development to meet project schedules.
May serve as a Project Coordinator on certain projects.
Perform detailed design work including the preparation of drawings, specifications, and estimates for review and approval by the responsible engineer.
Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
Provide limited direction to Designers and Technicians on assigned projects and may act as design leader on projects of minor complexity.
Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations.
Acquire on-site field data to accomplish the design or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance.
Prepare manual or computer-assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and a minimum of errors.

Demonstrated leadership and technical capability in fulfilling job responsibilities.
Utility distribution design experience with a utility or consulting engineering firm.
Management may consider other education and work experience acceptable for appointment to this position.
Experience with GIS systems, preferably Smallworld or GWD, and CADD systems such as AutoCAD.
Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university.
Must have a clear and valid driver's license and be at least 21 years of age to drive on company time.
Possess a thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures in technical matters such as Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Protective Relaying, Transmission Design, Substation Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Distribution Engineering, Surveying, GIS and Mapping, and CADD.
Ability to follow prescribed standards and procedures.
Ability to handle contacts with clients and other agencies regarding project design responsibilities.
Experience working in both field and office environments is preferred.
