The Electrical Shift Engineer will join the integrated engineering shift team responsible for critical facilities and data‑centre infrastructure, covering mechanical, electrical, plumbing and related assets. The role focuses on risk management, service‑delivery quality, and applying strong electrical engineering capabilities within a 24/7 environment.
Key duties include inspecting, operating and maintaining all MEP systems, leading planned, corrective and reactive maintenance, issuing permits to work, and ensuring compliance with method statements and risk assessments. The engineer will coordinate specialist vendor visits, provide shift relief, maintain accurate work‑order records, and produce shift handover reports. Participation in health‑and‑safety programmes, risk evaluation, and continuous improvement of safe work systems are also required.

Candidates must have at least five years of experience in critical environments such as data centres or banking headquarters, an electrical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent, and preferably HVAC knowledge. Excellent communication, IT and report‑writing skills, the ability to work calmly under pressure, and a proactive attitude are essential. Willingness to attend specialist training, including HV Authorised Person courses, and a commitment to integrity, punctuality and continuous improvement are expected.
