AECOM seeks an Associate Director – Civil Engineering to lead technical delivery for data centre projects, covering site due‑diligence, master‑planning, detailed design and construction support. The role sits within the Civil Engineering Business Unit and collaborates with ground, structural, mechanical, electrical, process engineers, architects, project managers, environmental specialists and surveyors in the UK and overseas.
As an ambassador for AECOM in the EMEA data‑centre market, the incumbent will ensure technical excellence, resilience and multidisciplinary integration for hyperscale and co‑location facilities. The position also contributes to business growth, client relationships, and the development of AECOM’s civil engineering capability in this sector.
Candidates must hold a degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and be chartered (CEng MICE) or demonstrate equivalent professional standing. Proven experience delivering complex civil infrastructure projects—ideally for data centres or mission‑critical environments—and a strong grasp of planning, highways, drainage, and utility approvals are required. Demonstrated ability to act as Design Lead or Technical Authority, coupled with BIM modelling knowledge, is essential.
