Trusted global infrastructure consulting firm delivering engineering, design, construction management services.
A typical day involves leading road design and urban precinct planning for both government and private sector clients, acting as Project Manager or Technical Lead on multiple assignments, and contributing to business development through proposal writing and bidding. You will work closely with engineers across Australia, mentor junior staff, and handle financial reporting for projects while participating in strategic planning activities.
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Transport Team in Rockhampton. The role offers the chance to work on regionally significant transport and civil planning projects, strengthen existing client relationships, and lead multidisciplinary teams. Candidates from Principal to Associate Director level with strong transport infrastructure experience are encouraged to apply, and relocation assistance is available for the right person.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, RPEQ registration, and roughly 12 + years of consultancy, council or state government experience. Demonstrated design and project management expertise on transport infrastructure, strong knowledge of Australian Standards, and excellent communication skills are essential. We value collaborative professionals who can develop new client relationships and who aspire to long‑term leadership within a global organisation.
You will become part of a high‑performing regional group of more than 30 engineers, scientists, and designers, while also collaborating with nationally recognised peers across AECOM. This structure enables whole‑business success and provides exposure to a broad portfolio of transport projects.
AECOM offers flexible work arrangements, including alternative start/finish times, part‑time, job‑sharing, and hybrid options. Employees can purchase up to six weeks of additional annual leave, access volunteer and representation leave, and swap public holidays to suit personal needs.
