Assisting in developing and managing the scope of each traffic engineering design task, creating the schedule, and establishing budgets. This includes monitoring project progress and resource allocation to ensure successful completion.
Undertaking / reviewing traffic signal, junction, temporary works and other associated traffic engineering designs ensuring effective communication and collaboration with the project team throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct and document traffic studies following nationally accepted modeling practices. This involves using various analytical tools and methodologies to evaluate traffic patterns, assess safety measures, and recommend improvements.
Developing technical approaches for traffic engineering projects and review technical results prepared by others. This includes providing guidance and ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
Coordinate with various subject matter experts, such as surveyors and roadway designers to ensure the successful delivery of projects. This involves facilitating collaboration, providing guidance, and integrating their expertise into traffic signal and traffic control plans.
Contribute to the successful delivery of traffic engineering projects, promoting safety, and enhancing transportation operations.
Preparing traffic engineering plans, which could involve signal designs, signing and marking designs, conceptual designs for intersections, or Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) designs.

Understanding of the application of traffic operations principles including ITE, OMUTCD, MUTCD, ODOT TEM, AASHTO, and ODOT L&D requirements
Previous experience of working in a PMO
Experience managing large tasks and/or projects
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Understanding of the use of traffic analysis tools including HCS, Transmodeler, Synchro/SimTraffic
Experience in one or more of the following areas: ODOT design standards, ITS design, traffic operations studies, or intersection conceptual drafting
10+ years of related work experience.
Experience in developing traffic engineering design plans
Experience in traffic management design and planning
Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required.
Experience of working within a multi-discipline team environment
Experience/familiarity with Microstation, Bentley OpenRoads, and/or Projectwise
Proactive approach to own activities and helping in other disciplines, as far as practically possible, to assist in PMO overall efficiency.
Charted (or similar) status with an industry recognized engineering body
Experience in reviewing third party designs and coordinating comments for approval
