The Field Collector supports engineering by gathering detailed on‑site information about OSP (outside plant) telecommunications networks. This role validates existing designs for aerial, buried, and underground fiber, conduit, handhole, building entrance, and riser facilities, ensuring accurate as‑built documentation.
Key duties include photographing and documenting OSP infrastructure, measuring attachment heights and span distances, identifying power and communication utilities, recording bonding and grounding details, and providing field notes and images to the engineering team. The collector also flags obstructions to fiber placement and suggests mitigation strategies while using GIS maps, layout drawings, and a variety of measurement tools.
Candidates need at least two years of fiber‑optic or telecom construction experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and solid knowledge of OSP design, right‑of‑way processes, and regulatory standards such as RUS, NESC, GO95, and NEC. Proficiency with GIS/ESRI, Microsoft Office, and basic AutoCAD is preferred, along with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
The position requires frequent travel, often up to 100% of the time, and the ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lb, walking up to three miles on uneven terrain, and staying on‑site for extended periods with short‑notice travel requirements.
Pearce offers a base pay range of $19–$26.50 USD per hour, performance and referral bonuses, tool and fuel stipends, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) match, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and professional development. The company promotes an inclusive, family‑friendly culture and provides necessary equipment such as a company vehicle, phone, and laptop.
