In this role you will support data‑center startups by performing on‑site mechanical, electrical, and control checks, lead startup and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems, and partner with automation engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate equipment. Clear communication with customers and project teams ensures smooth progress, while travel rotations follow various on‑/off‑day schedules and expose you to a wide range of industries and locations.
For those who’d rather be on the move than behind a desk, ProAutomated is opening its 2026 hiring pipeline for curious, adaptable problem‑solvers who love travel, hands‑on work, and being part of a team that knows your name. If you can laugh through flight delays, figure things out on the fly, and enjoy solving complex problems, this role could be a perfect fit.
We seek candidates who love travel and can thrive on rotating schedules, possess working knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and networking, and demonstrate adaptability, grit, strong problem‑solving and communication skills. You must reside within 50 miles of a major airport, have a personal vehicle ready within 45 days, be authorized to work in the U.S., and hold a technical degree or equivalent hands‑on experience of at least three years in a related field.
The position requires the ability to walk long distances across large facilities, climb ladders or work at heights, lift and move up to 50 lb, and stand, kneel, or reach for extended periods in varied environments such as construction sites or outdoor settings. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
Our four‑week paid training prepares technically skilled individuals for field work, focusing on electrical systems, programming, and communication networking. Success in training requires a basic foundation in these areas, so candidates who are new to them may not be ready for this position.
Working with ProAutomated means combining work and travel, experiencing new cities, and earning travel rewards while serving customers across North America. You’ll benefit from competitive pay, a clear path for salary growth, and a suite of health, retirement, and paid‑time‑off offerings that provide real flexibility. The company’s people‑first culture emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, humor, and mentorship from leaders who have risen through the ranks.
If you want a challenging, travel‑filled career where your effort truly matters, we’d love to meet you. ProAutomated is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and respectful workplace practices.
