Statutory Inspection Project Engineer

Description

• Responsible for safe implementation of company policies and procedures at project management level on various offshore wind project, globally.
• Assisting the department manager in planning, mobilising, executing, and demobilising of statutory inspection projects.
• The Statutory Inspection Project Engineer will be responsible small teams of technicians in all aspects of the project execution.
• Creating Standard Operating Procedures.
• Creating technical written instructions.
• The role requires the Statutory Inspection Project Engineer to assist in the design and implementation of company and project policies and procedures acting as the client liaison taking part in project mobilisation, regular progress updates and demobilisation. Taking an active role in production of departmental procedures and documentation in line with company document control system.
• The regular review and updating of documents mentioned above to capture lessons learnt and implement solutions within good time.
• Creating Risk Assessments.
• The Statutory Inspection Project Engineer will use company software to monitor and track company assets deployed on project to ensure they are replaced in time to prevent relevant certification dates lapsing.
• Scheduling of own work tasks using Microsoft Teams and Planner.
• The Statutory Inspection Project Engineer will maintain team performance in line with industry, client, project, and company requirements. Aiding in the design and implementation of engineering solutions for statutory inspection projects.
• Technical solutions for WTG operations and in the maintenance and repair of Statutory Inspection Items.

Requirements

• Technical PSSR Certification.
• Suitable technical expertise and understanding to deliver varied work scopes.
• Mechanical Qualification – HNC or similar - Desirable.
• Able to demonstrate competency with IT skills.
• Strong knowledge of UK legislation related to Statutory Inspections such as but not limited to LOLER, PUWER, PSSR, Regulatory Reform act 2005 Fire Safety etc.
• Good planner and able to assess own performance.
• Basic understanding of Marine operations within the offshore wind industry.
• Technical qualification/experience in Statutory Inspection works including annual maintenance and troubleshooting and resulting corrective maintenance.
• Minimum of 5 years Offshore Statutory experience.
• Experienced in statutory inspections with a wide range of lifting and work equipment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with software such as Motion Kinetic and I Auditor.
• Computer literacy skills – Intermediate Excel, Word Knowledge of Standard Forms of Contracts.
• Technical skills related to WTG Service Lifts, Davit Cranes and Nacelle Cranes.
• Hunmanby, United Kingdom (Hybrid).
• IOSH or similar.
• Electrical Qualification – HNC or similar - Desirable.
• Knowledge of offshore working practice.
• Able to deal with difficult clients or customers.
• Able and willing to travel nationally and internationally.
• Hold the right to work in the UK.
• Be able to think clearly and analytically.
• Offshore renewable experience (construction and O&M).
• Able to set a positive example for technicians.
• Able and willing to travel to a project in an emergency.
• A full UK drivers' license.
• Be able to gather unbiased information.
• Well-presented and business-like.
• Knowledge of the offshore wind industry such as upcoming key projects.
• Demonstrable knowledge of inspection/testing methods and how they are applied and used.
• Experienced with inspection and testing of pressured hydraulic systems.
