Provides technical support to project teams and customers and assists in training and developing staff.
Plans and analyzes assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters and sets procedures to accomplish system objectives, involving complex contracting applications.
Provides subject matter expertise and supervision of controls design, programming, end to end testing, downloading programming, starting up, commissioning, and servicing on assigned projects. This may include performing portions of the work.
Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work, as necessary.
Ensures that quality standards are maintained for assigned projects.
Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.
Implementation of detailed workplans and THA (Task Hazard Analysis)
Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.
Oversees the following: preparation of material and vendor orders; recording the receipt of materials and approving payments.
Examines and reviews contracts and estimates by performing risk analysis and developing risk plans.
Documents work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration; and maintaining files.
Keeps current on all McCarthy products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.
Assists the Project Manager with the project schedule, RFQs, cash-flow management, change order management, obtaining acceptance and timely sign-off of the project by the customer.

This position is moderately physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing ladders
At least 5+ years of previous experience in building automation is required
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
Must be able to squat and touch the floor with both hands
Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and plumbing plans is required
Must be able to safely use a ladder with a 300lb total weight limit
Must be able to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction
Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours
Must be able to maneuver access areas, as small as 30” vertical x 45” horizontal
Must be able to comfortably and routinely access rooftops with extension and/or fixed ladders at heights of 15’ to 20’, and occasionally, up to 50 feet+
It requires employees to occasionally lift and or move up to 10 lbs
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
Must be willing to travel when necessary, including overnight stay
Must have a proven commitment to Safety
Minimum of a 2 year degree in electronics, electrical, electromechanical, mechanical, HVAC, computer programming, information systems or similar technical studies is preferred
Must have experience with the windows operating system including the Office software suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
Must be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness and safety boots to safely perform job duties
