  • Organising junior staff and own workloads to deliver high quality work to agreed deadlines.
  • Providing advice on and managing the preparation of applications for environmental permits, licenses and approvals from regulatory agencies – including new applications and variations to and surrender of existing permits.
  • Supporting junior staff development.
  • Building strong Client relationships to maintain existing client base and develop new Clients.
  • Applying business development skills to delivering the business plan and securing new work.
  • Advising on and managing the preparation of environmental management system documents and supporting management plans required by our Clients environmental permits.
  • Overseeing permit monitoring and compliance reporting to the UK Regulators.
  • Ensuring quality control of the output of projects in accordance with the approved QA system.
  • Responding to and dealing with technical queries on projects as required and in a professional and timely manner.
  • Discharging and/or overseeing pre-operational conditions and permit improvement condition items.

  • Line management experience
  • A good understanding of UK regulators permitting guidance and requirements.
  • Confident at accurately scoping new work and producing costed proposals.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Substantial experience in preparing permit applications, variations and surrender applications across a wide range of sectors.
  • Ability to successfully deliver business development and secure new work and clients.
  • Strong project management skills including financial project management and a proven ability to bring work in on budget.
  • Ability and confidence to build and maintain working relationships with clients, external bodies and internal teams.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • A degree in science, engineering or environmental science.
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Experience in developing environmental management systems and management plans required for permitted facilities – fire prevention plans, accident management plans, dust management plans, odour management plans
