Work with the entire estimating team to prepare accurate cost estimates in a timely manner.
Prepare estimates by calculating the complete takeoff of scope of work.
Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
Utilize HCSS estimating software to develop a comprehensive project estimate and ability to participate in the management of the estimate.
Identify and find ways to mitigate project risks.
May review design options and recommend best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
Participate in the preparation and review of alternative procurement proposals
Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

Experience with all scopes of a typical heavy Civils construction project and the ability to estimate or review all scopes as needed.
Proficient experience with Bluebeam Revu is preferred.
Ability to provide training and mentoring to junior estimating staff.
Proficient experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) is required.
Strong computer and communication skills.
Solicit material and subcontractor quotations as needed
10 years of estimating experience and/or related training with heavy Civil Infrastructure projects including transportation, water/wastewater, and structures.
HCSS Heavy Bid experience and/or related software for pricing work is required.
Building and managing a CPM schedule on projects is preferred.
