The Reliability Technician ensures production equipment and systems are maintained so they are available to deliver quality products on schedule. This role focuses on efficient maintenance processes, equipment design for improved maintainability, and continuous technical improvement to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
The technician supports reliability and industrial engineers by conducting structured system analyses, applying reliability engineering methods, and using predictive maintenance technologies to detect machinery defects early. Responsibilities include creating work requests, maintenance plans, spare‑part packages, and updating tasks in the CMMS, as well as developing SOPs, leading risk‑management and RCA workshops, and driving engineering studies for equipment issues.
Additional duties involve managing spare‑part inventories, establishing kitting lists, coordinating with vendors for refurbishment, maintaining reliability analysis documents and OEM records, and supporting stockroom activities and AR/VR maintenance initiatives. Some travel may be required, and the role may include attending meetings and other assigned tasks.
Candidates must be proficient with Microsoft Office, SAP, and CMMS, and have knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance procedures. Strong verbal and written communication, the ability to work under deadlines, collaborate across functions, and uphold high quality standards are essential.
The position requires a high school diploma or bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience such as five years in reliability or maintenance. Viega encourages diverse candidates to apply even if they do not meet every qualification.
Compensation is $29–$35 hourly, with eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.
