  • Installation of electronic and mechanical systems and components on NAS and Inter-Agency systems.
  • Meets with internal customers and may coordinate with external customers regarding projects.
  • Attend all Training Classes as required to maintain sufficient knowledge of repair procedures for all systems including all Safety related courses.
  • Enters time into Data Collection and Reporting System (DCRS) daily to ensure timely billing of hours.
  • Operation of boom man lifts.
  • Completion of trip reports.
  • Performing equipment adjustment, testing, and certification.
  • Position requires traveling, up to 70%, and may entail emergency call outs for corrective maintenance as required. Assists crew lead with workload scheduling and planning.
  • Operation of motorized forklift.
  • Assists crew lead in project package reviews and provides feedback to internal customers.
  • Support Corrective Maintenance, (CM’s) on FAA and interagency systems in accordance with local and FAA policy and procedures.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of electronic/electro-mechanical systems to include fault isolation, removal, and replacement of failed Line Replaceable Units, (LRU’s) required to return the system to full operational capability.
  • Assisting in producing, reviewing, revising, and interpreting technical documents; assisting in designing, fabricating, assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, subsystems, components, test fixtures, and prototypes.
  • Structural inspection of towers and tower components at heights in excess of 50 feet, but not to exceed 750 feet.
  • Production and repair of electronic cables and wire harnesses. Performing equipment performance analyses, and information collection and reporting.
  • Installation and maintenance of NAS Radomes.
  • Maintenance on the inside and outside of tower structures at heights in excess of 50 feet, but not to exceed 750 feet. Labor includes, but not limited to, installation, removal and maintenance of communication antennae, surveillance systems, safety wire, tower guy wire pull-off shackles and tower obstruction lighting systems.
  • Keeps Crew Leads informed of assigned tasks and status.
  • Installation of equipment and components, and modifications.
  • Preventative maintenance and replacement of tower, radome and cab glass components.
  • Support Preventive Maintenance, (PM’s) on FAA and interagency systems, in accordance with local and FAA policy and procedures.
  • Prepare FAA and interagency assets for shipment to and from field site, vendor locations and/or Federal Aviation Administration Logistic Center, (FAALC).
  • Performing corrosion control and prevention.
  • Assists junior technicians with technical tasks and may be required to provide on the job training.
  • Developing and performing equipment and component adjustment, test, and certification processes; and in installing equipment and modifications.
  • Circuit board testing and repair.
  • Operation of equipment such as boom man lifts and motorized forklifts.
  • Installation of electronic and mechanical systems and components.

  • One Primary form of government-issued identification, selected from the following:
  • Specialized knowledge of FAA systems, equipment, procedures, and operations is highly desired.
  • Practical experience in an engineering technician support position is required. This experience must include assisting in developing, reviewing, and updating engineering documentation and processes, and in troubleshooting, repairing, assembling, testing, and installing electrical, and mechanical systems and equipment.
  • NACI Clearance - ability to obtain Public Trust.
  • A valid drivers license is required.
  • Valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or state-issued ID card.
  • Rope repelling / on rope work at heights.
  • Estimated Monthly Travel required for this position: 70%.
  • Original or certified copy of a birth certificate.
  • Rotary joint and drive motor troubleshooting and repair.
  • U.S. Military or U.S. Military dependent’s ID Card with photograph.
  • U.S. Passport or U.S. Passport Card.
  • An associate degree in electrical or engineering technology and completion of formal technical training courses is required for level II.
  • NAVAID antenna and component repair and overhaul.
  • Due to safety and operational requirements mandated by our government customer, all engineering technicians are required to successful complete a physical fitness evaluation, which includes specific weight restrictions of minimum 125lbs and maximum of 290lbs.
  • Moderate lifting and carrying (50 lbs.), straight pushing and pulling, reaching above shoulders, use of fingers and both hands required, walking and standing, repeated bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling (use of both legs and arms), operation of crane, truck, tractor, or motor vehicle, both eyes required with depth perception and ability to distinguish basic colors and shades of colors, hearing (aid permitted).
  • Due to the limitations of fall protection gear, the minimum weight for an applicant is 125lbs, the maximum weight is 290lbs.
  • U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Transportation ID Card.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Must possess TWO forms of unexpired identification to meet eligibility requirements.
  • Voter registration card.
  • Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551).
  • Certificate of U.S. Citizenship or Naturalization.
  • Tower Climbing / Work at heights in excess of 50’.
  • U.S. Government Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Card.
