  • Monitors and reports on SCADA performance and capacity.
  • Procures, configures, and deploys SCADA infrastructure.
  • Supports the development of standards and processes.
  • Develops and defines SCADA applications for various utility equipment using SCADA technologies.
  • Participates in implementation and deployment planning and execution.
  • Produces and updates system documentation impacting own team.
  • Works with project manager to define tasks and create team work plans. May delegate work to others and monitor progress. Idetifies issues affecting work progress and recommend solutions.
  • Responsible for infrastructure related to SCADA including related hardware and software to ensure availability, recoverability, performance, integrity and supportability through production support and maintenance of existing SCADA, as well as development and implementation of enhancements.
  • Performs complex technical analysis and tasks.
  • Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.
  • Tests SCADA functionality and software changes to ensure that SCADA applications produce consistent and credible results.
  • Works primarily with IT members, along with PSE protection, automation and controls personnel.
  • Plans, designs, acquires and implements the company’s SCADA services. Evaluates business requirements to develop and implement solutions. Conducts project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons.
  • Plans and executes designs, configurations, or enhancements to new and existing SCADA services.
  • Engineers, designs and documents basic SCADA infrastructure, interfaces and projects. Assists in the design of complex projects.
  • Researches, recommends and designs new technologies, new configurations and enhancements to existing SCADA, provides consulting advice to customers on the capabilities of the environment.
  • Interfaces with vendors for procurement and deployment.
  • Provides advanced customer support for new and existing SCADA systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive for results to deliver against commitments.
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing issue tracking systems and processes (REMEDY, Visio, ISR’s, Budget process and Change Control).
  • Experience in design, preparation of specifications, technical field work, or system studies.
  • Basic business software skills.
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of the fundamental tools and concepts of one of the IT Teams. Applies that understanding to make independent, practical contributions to moderately complex IT work within a particular PSE function or department.

  • Federal Communication Commission (FCC) General Radio/Telephone Operators license or equivalent certificate.
  • Knowledge of utility business processes.
  • Knowledge of engineering economics & analysis.
  • Two (2) year degree or certification in a technology-related field or equivalent combination of education, work experience or relevant military experience, and at least one (1) year of experience in related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven experience working independently and/or in a team environments to deliver on initiatives.
  • Experience working with both internal and external customers on projects.
  • Experience in project cost estimating or scheduling.
  • Strong statistical and analytical skills.
  • Experience leading or participating in internal and external teams.
  • One (1) year related experience in infrastructure/network environments performing SCADA engineering (hardware and software), designing, planning and implementing the latest technology.
  • One (1) year experience in analytical work.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification.
  • Growth mindset to rapidly learn new skills and be able to collaborate to deliver creative IT solutions.
  • Undergraduate degree.
