The Role

Overview

Design and manage water/wastewater utility projects in Southwest Florida.

Tasks

-Supervising permit technicians and administration in completing permit applications and moving the permit application process forward -Maintain regular contact with clients and regulatory agencies -Construction observations, preparing field observation reports of construction activity, and witnessing critical tasks during construction -Writing technical reports, letters, project summaries, and emails -Project coordination and communication with construction managers, contractors, owners, construction inspectors, and permitting agencies -Project management assistance on several types of utility and pipeline projects including client coordination, contract negotiation, developing and maintaining project schedules, and maintaining project budgets -Supervising CAD designers and project coordination with other departments, professions, and agencies

What You Bring

-Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook -Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline -Experience in water and wastewater pipeline, pump station, hydraulic modeling, and/or treatment plant design -Cross-training and the ability to work on a variety of projects. -Minimum of 5 years of local experience in civil engineering of utility projects is a plus -Ability to work both in the field and in office settings -Valid Florida driver’s license and clean driving record as driving is an essential part of the position -Strong written and verbal communication skills -Florida PE license is a plus -Relevant experience in Southwest Florida preferred -Professional Engineering License. Will consider strong candidates with EIT certificates who are on their way to licensure
