The Associate Distribution Center Planner acts as the primary contact for supply‑chain distribution centers in work planning, emergency management, and storm readiness. The role schedules daily work, adjusts personnel assignments to match business needs, drives safety and efficiency improvements, and ensures partner satisfaction. Issues are escalated to the DCP II when necessary.
The planner coordinates material availability, status, and delivery processes while supporting invoice review and payments. Daily interaction with planners, material analysts, logistics coordinators, distributors and manufacturers across all geographies minimizes supply‑chain cost impact. The position works closely with peers and management to build deep understanding of the operations it supports.
Applicants must hold an Associate’s degree, or a high school diploma/GED plus two years of related experience. Required skills include strong planning and organizational abilities, excellent written and verbal communication, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the capacity to work independently while multitasking.
Preferred candidates have a Bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant experience, a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) credential, and prior distribution or transmission planning exposure. Additional desired attributes are supply‑chain experience, warehouse operations knowledge, inventory‑control expertise, and proven conflict‑resolution and negotiation skills.
The role is performed onsite in office, warehouse, and field environments with occasional mobility across the zone. Travel requirements range from 5 % to 15 % of time, and relocation assistance is available when applicable. This position is not union‑represented, does not sponsor visas, and requires compliance with all safety and accessibility standards.
To be considered, applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Duke Energy offers more than a career—it’s an opportunity to impact millions of lives daily. Employees enjoy a friendly work environment, growth and development opportunities, recognition for their contributions, and competitive pay and benefits.
