Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and be a qualified Journeyman Lineman with knowledge of distribution and transmission construction, maintenance, and operations. Required skills include strong communication, teamwork, safety compliance, experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers, and the ability to meet driver qualification standards with a valid CDL Class A.
Preferred qualifications include two or more years of transmission line construction and maintenance experience, familiarity with track vehicles and wire‑tensioning equipment, and a technical school lineman degree.
Xcel Energy is seeking one or more Transmission Journeyman Linemen for its Black Avenue Service Center in Eau Claire, WI. The position offers a starting base pay of $60.31 per hour (2025 rate) with regular hours from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, and will be posted from January 9 to January 29, 2026.
