Technical Adisor - Piping Layout

Description

The Technical Advisor – Piping Layout Senior Layout Engineer will work within the piping design team on offshore projects, ensuring design integrity while managing project execution.

Key duties include preparing layout pipe specifications, developing overall and unit plot plans, reviewing vendor 3‑D model packages, and approving isometric production and piping GADs. The role also involves monitoring 3‑D model progress, maintaining quality check records, and providing inputs for project progress reports, change logs, technical queries, and lessons learned.

• Prepare layout pipe specifications
• Develop overall plot plan and unit plot plan
• Review vendor package 3‑D models
• Review and approve isometric production and piping GADs
• Monitor progress of 3‑D model and maintain quality check records
• Provide inputs for area lead reports, raise change logs, technical queries, and lessons learned
• Maintain deliverables for assigned design area
• Train and mentor junior designers

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, and possess 15‑20 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in E3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and MS Office is required, along with experience on Fixed Platforms and FPSOs; familiarity with Shell DEP or Qatar Petroleum projects is a plus.

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 15–20 years of offshore piping design experience
• Expert use of E3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and MS Office
• Experience with Fixed Platforms and FPSOs (minimum requirement)
• Knowledge of Shell DEP or Qatar Petroleum projects preferred
• Strong communication and coordination across disciplines, centers, and vendors
