UAV Technologist
Aplin Martin
Providing engineering, architectural, and planning solutions for infrastructure and land development.
Experienced UAV Technologist responsible for planning, executing, and managing UAV flights, processing UAV data, quality control, drafting, and 3D modeling from point cloud data. Also has a role in estimate preparation, job costing, and mentoring junior staff.
Advising on equipment and software to facilitate branch growth;
Developing training materials and mentoring junior staff who are interested in UAV survey;
Feature extraction from point cloud data and orthophotos;
Planning and executing UAV missions in the field;
Maintaining technical proficiency with industry standards;
Liaising with Project Managers to ensure clients’ requirements are met;
UAV data Quality Assurance and Quality Control;
Ensuring compliance with all UAV regulations;

Demonstrated experience in using DJI UAVs and LiDAR payloads
A diploma in Geomatics combined with relevant work experience may be considered for the right candidate;
Experience using 3D modeling software (i.e., MicroStation, TopoDot, Cloud Compare, or ESRI ArcGIS and/or QGIS an asset);
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
A bachelor’s degree in Geomatics Engineering is preferred
A bachelor’s degree in an associated field such as Geography, remote sensing, GIS, or Engineering may be considered in addition to relevant work experience;
Experience preparing client deliverables such as topographic plans, surface models, or inspection reports;
Demonstrated experience processing LiDAR and photogrammetry data;
Demonstrated experience planning and executing UAV Surveys
Strong communication and interpersonal, and able to work effectively with various officials, team members and clients
