Description

• Perform new construction, maintenance, or repair of energized and de‑energized overhead work safely.
• Lead crew members when the foreman is absent.
• String overhead wire and set poles and anchors.
• Install transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot primary and secondary systems; replace cutout fuses and clear faulted circuits.
• Work with energized high‑voltage systems, protecting self and others.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good condition.
• Follow grounding procedures and work at heights or in confined spaces.
• Properly install and remove personal protective equipment and cover‑ups.
• Climb various structures (wood, steel) using appropriate tools.
• Phase out lines using phasing sticks and plan safe work from job prints or work orders.
• Obtain a one‑shot on a recloser and conduct pre‑job/tailgate briefings.
• Perform reconductoring and install/remove mechanical jumpers safely.
• Use load‑bust tools and execute related tasks to complete jobs.
• Work outdoors in inclement weather and handle loud, noisy environments.
• Travel long distances on short notice and work extended periods in various locations.
• Lift more than 50 lb and inspect rubber goods and PPE.

Requirements

The Class A Lineman position involves skilled construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical overhead distribution systems. Work is performed at various sites and may require travel to other states depending on customer demands.

The role demands strict adherence to safety while handling both energized and de‑energized overhead work. The lineman must be capable of leading crew members in the foreman's absence and performing rigorous physical labor in all weather conditions.

Candidates must have at least five years of recent field experience and be able to read and communicate effectively in English. A Commercial Driver’s License or the ability to obtain a CDL permit within 60 days is preferred, and the ability to travel long distances on short notice is required.

The position requires meeting physical demands such as regularly standing, walking, lifting over 50 lb, and working at heights or in confined spaces. Employees are frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, mechanical vibration, and loud noise while working outdoors.

• Identify primary and secondary voltage and understand induced voltage.
• Minimum 5 years recent field experience.
• Read and communicate effectively in English.
• Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days; CDL preferred.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and outside normal schedules.
