The role involves testing and modifying electrical equipment after production and before shipment. Responsibilities include inspecting product functions, monitoring test procedures, and performing system tests such as infrared and dielectric testing. The employee will also troubleshoot complex electrical problems, AC/DC circuitry, and printed circuit assemblies to the component level, as well as assemble, set up programs, and conduct functional tests on circuit boards. Work is organized by receiving requests, studying wiring diagrams and specifications, testing systems and components, and determining causes and solutions. Use of test equipment such as digital meters, current meters, transformers, load banks, hi‑pot testers, current clamps, computers, and infrared cameras is required, along with maintaining a safe work environment and complying with regulations.
Candidates must hold a High School Diploma or GED, and have at least one year of experience in electrical testing or related electronic technologies, preferably within a manufacturing setting. An associate degree in electronics or electrical engineering technology and prior training with electrical equipment and testing procedures are preferred. The individual must be able to read and interpret one‑line drawings, wire lists, and schematics, and possess proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word. Understanding of delta‑wye three‑phase transformer and resistive load bank technology is also required.
The job requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk regularly, and to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Employees may also need to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, push, and pull as part of their duties.
No relocation assistance is provided; applicants must reside within a 50‑mile radius of the work site, although active‑duty military members are exempt from this geographic restriction. The position does not offer additional relocation benefits.
