The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician will join the Operations Maintenance team to repair and maintain material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. This role includes installing, maintaining, and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment while also mentoring junior technicians.
Daily duties involve promoting a safe working environment by following all safety procedures, completing preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation, and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems on material handling equipment such as belts, motors, photo‑eyes, and relays. The technician will also track inventory, maintain positive relationships across the facility, and may travel up to 20 % of the time.
Required qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent, 2 + years of experience repairing material handling equipment, and the ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Preferred qualifications include an associate or higher degree in mechanical or electrical fields, experience with automated conveyor systems, blueprint and schematic reading, and familiarity with CMMS and robotic or electromechanical maintenance.
The position demands physical stamina: repetitive bending, crouching, lifting parts averaging 20 lb (occasionally up to 49 lb), standing and walking on concrete for 10‑plus hour shifts, and working in small, dusty, noisy, or temperature‑variable environments. Workers must also be able to operate foot pedals and perform precise hand‑eye coordination.
