The Hearings Advisor will work in the Independent Hearings Panel Team/Secretariat alongside the Independent Hearings Panel as they prepare for and undertake hearings, mediations, and expert conferences related to the proposed Plan Change 120 Housing Intensification and Resilience.
Reporting to the Hearings Process Manager, the advisor will communicate with a wide range of stakeholders—including King’s Counsel, property developers, and members of the public—to ensure a superior level of service and help participants present their cases effectively.
Key duties include coordinating, managing and attending both in‑person and online hearings, taking accurate notes, providing professional advice, delivering reliable administrative support, notifying parties, processing documentation within statutory timeframes, and assisting with mediation and expert conferencing.
Candidates may be graduate planners seeking RMA experience or professionals looking to advance in administration or customer service. The ideal applicant is a self‑managing team player with high initiative, the ability to balance competing demands, strong problem‑solving and computer skills, and confidence in communicating and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
This is a fixed‑term opportunity until approximately mid‑2027 with a salary band of $76,160 – $89,600. The role is based in Auckland and seeks candidates who have an interest in the city’s development and environment and a passion for helping Aucklanders.
