  • Maintain project documentation and sealed deliverables in compliance with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) requirements.
  • Prepare detailed design packages including single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and material lists.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and review of designs prepared by others.
  • Develop safe, effective engineering designs for protection and control systems in electrical utility substations (12kV to 500kV).
  • Perform construction quality control, monitoring, and field reviews to ensure design compliance.
  • Prepare documentation such as specifications, calculations, design bases, test plans, and hazard logs in accordance with established engineering design practices.
  • Conduct independent studies and analyses, exercising sound judgment in selecting and interpreting technical information.
  • Support project management in meeting cost, quality, and schedule objectives by preparing reports, estimates, and progress documentation.
  • Provide technical assistance during construction and commissioning, including field support and site travel as required.

  • Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel to various sites across the province, including remote locations.
  • Must hold, or have access to, a valid EGBC Permit to Practice (sole practitioner or firm-based).
  • Familiarity with digital sign and seal technology (e.g., Notarius).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science or Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC or eligible for registration in BC.
  • Proficiency with industry design/analysis software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with CAD systems and drawing standards.
  • Experience within the utilities or power generation sector.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Experience in the design of protection and control systems for substations (12kV–500kV).
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant engineering experience.
