Payroll Assistant - Part Time

Description

• Audit and reconcile total hours on timesheets against input data for precision
• Calculate and verify payroll amounts, including adjustments for overtime, deductions, and special rates
• Print and distribute payroll checks efficiently
• Distribute comprehensive payroll reports to relevant personnel
• Maintain meticulous records of hourly rates, wages, and employee onboarding details
• Prepare bank deposits compliant with payroll and union requirements
• Process union reports and payments accurately
• Accurately report employee contributions to 401(k) plans
• Collect and verify weekly timekeeping information for all employees to ensure accuracy
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support payroll, HR and administrative functions effectively
• Input and validate all submitted timesheets promptly with strong attention to detail
• Process direct deposits securely and accurately
• Handle court orders, tax levies, unemployment claims and other financial deductions with strict adherence to regulations
• Address and resolve employee inquiries and concerns regarding payroll promptly and professionally.

Requirements

• Prior experience in payroll administration is preferred
• Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal skills
• This position requires being on-site Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, ensuring timely completion of tasks
• Thorough understanding of accounting principles and best practices in payroll
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in MS Office suite and familiarity with relevant software applications, IBM and Foundation preferred but not required
