- Recognize and solve actual and potential problems related to quality control operations. Inspect products for quality, identify and take corrective action as necessary
- Operate company vehicle to travel to other offices and work locations as necessary
- Act as subject matter expert regarding quality control specifications and principles
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and support of QC technicians/supervisors and direct daily work of others
- Support, promote, and practice the Company’s core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
- Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
- Ensure all quality control operations and activities are conducted in conformance with company policies, regulatory agency guidance, and compliance standards
- Submit data and assist with coordination of external laboratories involved in testing processes
- Plan and assist with coordination of quality control activities and establish priorities to support effective operations and cost control

- Ability to collect and analyze information and recommend solutions for improvement
- Computer skills using a range of programs and applications, including MS Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), database/spreadsheet programs, and mobile apps
- Read, understand, and interpret specifications, principles, and products associated with the construction, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt industry
- Frequently required to Stand/work on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
- 5+ years of experience in quality control testing of aggregates, asphalt, and ready-mix concrete required
- Frequent exposure to typical construction site conditions, including dust and loud noise, and all-weather conditions
- Valid driver's license and ability to maintain clean driving record required
- Regularly required to perform tasks requiring visual acuity
- Ability to write and speak clearly and effectively to all levels of employees, both individually and in large groups
- 1-2 years of managerial experience required
- Demonstrated understanding of construction processes and asphalt and ready-mix concrete materials production
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision and resolve problems and technical issues
- ACI and DOT testing certifications; advanced certifications required
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (construction management, civil engineering, etc.) and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
