The manager oversees personnel to ensure application systems programs are developed and implemented on time and within budget. They develop short‑ and long‑term application systems plans that align with the business’s needs and priorities. Responsibilities include conducting feasibility studies, estimating time and cost, and establishing new or revised application systems and programs. The role also assists in projecting software and hardware requirements.
The manager assigns staff to various projects, directs activities, and reviews and evaluates work while preparing performance reports. They confer with and advise subordinates on administrative policies, technical problems, priorities, and methods. Coordination with personnel in other information systems sections ensures aligned activities. Activity and progress reports are prepared for the applications systems and programming section.
On initiatives or projects, the manager acts as advisor, technical architect, or technical lead. They research and proactively analyze emerging technologies that could influence LII’s IT architecture. The role provides department leadership on new and best‑practice approaches to technical architecture challenges and opportunities. This guidance drives innovative solutions across the organization.
The position requires extensive experience with SAP products such as ECC, BW, HANA, SCM, SOLMAN, CRM, PI/PO, GTS, TMS, EWM, C4C, Callidus, BODS, and Hybris, as well as strong knowledge of HANA and SLT. Candidates must have solution architecture and design expertise, hands‑on experience with SAP upgrades, S/4 Hana implementation, SAP BTP, and database platforms including Oracle, SQL, SAP HANA, and MaxDB. Technical skills in SAP infrastructure on Linux/Windows, performance monitoring, interface troubleshooting, landscape optimization, and SAP Java stack administration are essential, along with strong analytical, problem‑solving, multitasking, and communication abilities.
Additional expectations include managing a Basis team of five or more, handling datacenter migration and disaster recovery, and ensuring 24×7 availability of mission‑critical systems. Nice‑to‑have experience covers SAP landscape migration to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or SAP Cloud, familiarity with ITIL service‑delivery concepts, Splunk administration, and MuleSoft knowledge.
