Description

The role establishes the QA/QC framework for mechanical systems, manages quality documentation workflows, and ensures compliance with project-specific and industry standards. While it involves field interaction and inspection, the primary focus is on quality program development, document control, and ongoing oversight across contractors and subcontractors. The representative will also coordinate with the Document Control team to integrate QA/QC workflows into Autodesk Construction Cloud or equivalent systems.

• Develop and maintain Mechanical QA/QC Plan for process piping and HVAC systems.
• Define inspection hold points, submittal protocols, and turnover documentation standards with project leadership.
• Oversee implementation and enforcement of the Quality Plan across subcontractors and quality teams.
• Establish and maintain organized QA/QC documentation structure for weld logs, inspection reports, NCRs, redlines, and test results.
• Collaborate with Document Control to align workflows within Autodesk Construction Cloud or equivalent systems.
• Review contractor Inspection and Test Plans for completeness and alignment with specifications.
• Coordinate HVAC quality verifications, including ductwork cleanliness, insulation, supports, sealing, balancing, and commissioning readiness.
• Support system walkdowns and pre-functional checks with QA documentation and track punch item closeout.
• Monitor contractor QA staffing and practices to ensure proper execution of quality protocols.
• Conduct quality onboarding and training for trade partners, clarifying QA expectations and reporting standards.
• Work with Mechanical Work Group Leads, Construction Managers, and Project Engineers to promote a proactive quality culture.

Requirements

• 7+ years of QA/QC experience supporting mechanical and process piping systems.
• Expertise in high-purity mechanical systems and HVAC, including stainless steel piping, gas, cleanroom air handling, and hydronic systems.
• Proven ability to set up and maintain structured quality documentation for large-scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, SMACNA, AWS D18, and ISO cleanroom protocols.
• Proficiency with construction drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, submittals, and system schematics.
• Familiarity with digital QA tracking tools; experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, or Bluebeam preferred.
• Excellent organization, communication, and coordination skills; capable of holding subcontractors accountable for quality deliverables.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
• CWI, Mechanical QA/QC certification, or equivalent credentials strongly preferred.
• Additional certifications in HVAC commissioning, cleanroom systems, or ISO quality management are a plus.
