Credit Specialist (Temp to Hire)

• Research and resolve unapplied cash, credits, and deduction issues
• Investigate causes of delinquency and escalate unresolved issues
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, mailing, and invoice/statements processing
• Apply payments accurately (checks, wires, ACH) based on customer remittance
• Support ad-hoc projects and cross-functional credit activities as needed
• Monitor, analyze, and minimize delinquent receivables; identify and resolve payment discrepancies
• Maintain account records and assist in onboarding new accounts
• Provide supporting documentation to customers in the required formats
• May involve occasional lifting of items up to 25 lbs
• Reconcile accounts, process adjustments, and identify trends or risks
• Assist in generating reports for credit and collections management
• Manage collection activities for a portfolio of assigned corporate accounts, with a focus on Home Depot and Lowe’s

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Credit & Collection Specialist to join our Corporate Credit Team. This role focuses on managing accounts receivable for major retail customers—specifically Home Depot and Lowe's—ensuring timely collections, resolving discrepancies, and supporting the overall credit function with clerical and reporting tasks.

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); excellent 10-key typing skills
• Requires regular use of computer and phone
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Experience with Home Depot and Lowe’s accounts strongly preferred
• 5+ years of business-to-business credit and collections experience, preferably in the retail sector
• Strong communication, documentation, and customer service abilities
