The EDoCs Engineering Information Management Engineer will provide essential support to the Port Authority’s Electronic Document Center (EDoC) by managing, securing, and optimizing engineering information critical to project planning, design, research, and compliance. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate retrieval, controlled access, and high-quality information to support major infrastructure initiatives.
- Administer all incoming Engineering Information Requests, including acquiring, compiling, and distributing engineering information.
- Research and retrieve engineering information for design RFPs, reference drawings, as-built conditions, litigation, FOI requests, acquisitions, and internal studies.
- Schedule and coordinate on-site research appointments with consultants/contractors and assist in locating engineering documents within the EDoC repository.
- Contribute to developing best practices and core offerings for the engineering information management domain.
- Coordinate with the Engineering Department Information Security Officer (DISO) to verify requestor authorization and ensure compliance with access control policies.
- Assess current document management capabilities, including workflows, procedures, database structures, and search/retrieval applications.
- Manage secure EDoC files in strict alignment with authorized access policies and information security requirements.
- Support supervisors and managers with special projects and additional tasks as needed.
- Evaluate data quality and consistency within the document management database and recommend improvements or data cleansing initiatives.

- Demonstrated ability to research, retrieve, organize, and distribute technical information for engineering and construction projects.
- Experience in engineering information management, document control, or related technical information handling.
- Familiarity with Port Authority engineering documentation, systems, or information security protocols.
- Knowledge of best practices in information management, metadata, and data quality assessment.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Teams, and comfort working in a hybrid environment requiring in-person support.
- Experience working with document management systems, databases, or search/retrieval repositories.
- Prior experience with engineering research requests, FOI processes, or litigation support documentation.
- Familiarity with information security practices, controlled-access environments, and compliance-based document handling.
- Ability to work full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, in accordance with Port Authority work arrangements.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, as-constructed documentation, and technical reference materials.
- Experience working with or supporting large public agencies, utilities, or transportation organizations.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including engineering staff, contractors, consultants, and security officers.
