Description

• Provide strategic insights to senior leadership to support data-driven decision-making.
• Build and scale the SMB sales team through identifying top talent, collaboration with recruitment efforts, and fostering a winning culture.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews to provide feedback that fuels professional growth.
• Deliver clear, actionable sales reports and forecasts to track performance against goals.
• Establish and develop cross-functional department relationships, e.g. Operations, Marketing, Administration.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and guidance to the sales team to enhance their skills and performance.
• Develop and implement coaching programs to improve individual and team performance.
• Analyze sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for improvement.
• Drive automation initiatives to streamline SMB sales processes and boost efficiency.
• Lead from the front—model excellence through active participation in sales efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and inspire sales teams—even if your formal title wasn’t “manager.”
• Proven success managing geographically dispersed teams.
• Direct B2B Energy Sales Experience: 5–10 years selling electricity, natural gas, or green energy contracts (supplier or broker backgrounds welcome).
• Exceptional time management and prioritization skills.
• Proven ability to drive new business growth and existing accounts.
• Data and metrics orientation and experience working with major CRM systems.
• Results-oriented mindset with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and business growth.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Adaptable and agile in managing shifting priorities, market dynamics, and team needs.
• Analytical thinker and creative problem-solver.
• Empathetic leader who builds trust and fosters team resilience.
• Able to take bold risks in the pursuit of worthy opportunities for your team and the company.
• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong leadership skills with a coaching mindset and the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team.
• Sales or sales management experience in some combination of energy procurement and adjacent energy efficiency solutions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Multi-year track record of exceeding team quotas ($5M+)
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
