As the Handy person Operative, you will be part of a small department delivering the required tasks. You will work closely with Contract Managers & Supervisors to ensure all works (PPM, reactive & quoted) are processed and dealt with in a timely manner in accordance with the contractual requirements. Supporting the customer on embedding system processes and compliance
- To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works
- To attend site in response to breakdowns or failures of the equipment outside of normalworking hours (call outs). Take part in the regional on-call rota
- Update customers CAFM system in real time with start/wait/stop completion times andprovide full description of works undertaken, advising of any follow-on works required
- Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdownworks and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator. Completesupplementary documentation / E-Forms relating to the maintenance task as dictated byyour line manager
- Ensure reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlightingareas where improvements can be made. Identify and record all plant failures usingquotation forms and issue to line manager. This is to be indicated and recorded within theCAFM system
- Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceableorder. In accordance with the delegated authority with the applicable contract or authorisedby the client
- Stock management using client’s system to order lab stock and distribute these to therelevant work area
- Ensure all PPM is carried out in accordance with the maintenance specification anddocumented in real time using the PDA to log start/wait/stop completion and travel timeswith appropriate comments to evidence completion of work
- Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works

This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
A recognised industry qualification would be desirable but not essential• Previous experience in undertaking a similar role.• Must have a full clean drivers’ licence.• Computer literate • Good communicator• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised• Able to work as part of a team• Flexible and adaptable to change• To always maintain a clean and smart appearance• Fluent in English both written and oral.
