Engage in capacity building activities, including mentoring other staff and contributing to internal knowledge sharing; helping to grow the next generation of IDC practitioners
Assist in the development of IDC metrics and performance indicators, enabling data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement across the value chain
Contribute to the creation and use of standardised tools, methods, and delivery models, helping to embed repeatable, scalable solutions across projects
Support the creation of case studies, lessons learned, and a library of proven IDC approaches, ensuring knowledge is captured, shared, and applied effectively
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure IDC principles are integrated from concept to completion, fostering a culture of cross-functional innovation
Apply DfMA and MMC principles to optimise design, delivery, and operational outcomes—demonstrating value through improved constructability, reduced waste, or enhanced programme certainty
Participate in client workshops, stakeholder engagement, and delivery assurance activities, building trusted relationships and reinforcing Mott MacDonald’s reputation for excellence in IDC
Support the development and implementation of IDC strategies across client portfolios and programmes, contributing to measurable improvements in delivery efficiency and consistency
Contribute to the development of digital tools and data models that support industrialised delivery, enhancing transparency, traceability, and automation

Building Services experience
Manufacturing and Assembly experience
Experience working on programmes or projects across different sectors including Buildings (Healthcare, Education, Defence, Nuclear etc.), Water and Environment and / or Transport infrastructure (Airports, Metros etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset to drive innovation and process improvement
Is self-motivated, accountable, and takes ownership of their work. Works independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Understanding and commitment to Mott MacDonald’s PRIDE values (Progress; Respect; Integrity; Drive; Excellence)
Supply chain ecosystem management experience
A self-starter mentality with a desire to apply initiative and new ideas, comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-changing start-up environment
Understanding of the RIBA Plan of Work (or equivalents in non-buildings markets) and its application to delivery
Systems Engineering experience
Proficiency in digital delivery and the understanding of the key role it plays in supporting the implementation of DfMA approaches
Knowledge of Lean principles and logistics
Strong communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills
Awareness of tools such as Power BI, Revit, or parametric design platforms
Working towards or recently achieved chartership with a relevant, recognised professional body
Awareness of manufacturing and assembly processes, including materials selection, fabrication methods, and assembly techniques, to inform design decisions and enhance constructability
Demonstrates a coachable mindset, open to feedback and continuous improvement
Experience with systems engineering, with familiarity with requirements managements tools and methodologies a plus
Willingness to support in the sale and projection of our advisory services
Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent education in a related field
Ability to think strategically and laterally, bringing creativity to problem solving innovation and technology
A proactive, curious mindset with a willingness to learn and challenge the status quo. Brings a can-do, proactive attitude, with a willingness to adapt, learn, and challenge the status quo
Understanding of supply chain ecosystems and management for Industrialised construction, including key market players, logistics challenges and procurement processes
Structural / architectural engineering experience
Relevant certifications or memberships in professional organisations (e.g. Lean Construction Institute, BuildingSMART) are a plus
Demonstrable experience in applying DfMA, MMC, or platform-based approaches
Enthusiasm to become involved in and support wider initiatives within Mott MacDonald
