The employee will be responsible for winding coils and performing hot‑working transformer assemblies that are used in electrical equipment and instruments. This work follows wiring diagrams, sample coils, or work orders and utilizes coil‑winding machines as well as welding and brazing equipment. The role includes reviewing diagrams to determine wire type, size, and coil dimensions, and building transformer sub‑assemblies to meet customer specifications.
Product quality is verified through inspections of coil dimensions, bus‑bar locations, and overall installation to ensure compliance with production standards. The worker must maintain at least 80 % productivity, adhere to company safety, attendance, and punctuality policies, and keep all work areas clean, organized, and presentable. Compliance with U.S. export control and security regulations is also required.
Candidates need a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of manufacturing experience, with three years preferred. Additional qualifications include forklift operator certification (training available), a minimum of six months soldering/brazing/welding experience or a welding certificate, and prior machine‑operation experience. Physical requirements involve lifting 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting; applicants must reside within a 50‑mile radius of Richmond, VA, unless they are active‑duty military. No relocation assistance is offered.
