-Represent The City of Calgary in all forms of Judicial Dispute Resolution. -Represent The City of Calgary before all levels of court. -Provide advice to Law, Legal Services' clients. -Identify and raise issues of concern and recommend effective solutions. -Manage competing interests, tight timelines and work effectively and productively with a variety of people both internal and external to the Corporation. -Draft pleadings and conduct questionings.
-Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. -Successful applicants must have the ability to: -Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict management skills. -At least 3 years of experience in civil litigation is required. -Proven technical, self-management skills, high energy, and self-motivation. -Juris Doctor (J.D.), Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or equivalent degree from a recognized institution and active membership or eligibility for membership with The Law Society of Alberta. -You bring a strategic approach to the law, technical expertise and a commitment to initiating and inspiring creative problem solving.
