The Assistant Project Manager II oversees and delivers solar EPC projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with health, safety, contract, quality, and legal requirements. Responsibilities include leading internal and external project teams, securing and managing subcontractors, and handling project administration such as meetings, document control, submittals, and commissioning.
Budget and schedule management are performed using MS Project or Primavera P6, with accurate cost forecasting and oversight of subcontractor payments and billings. The role implements site‑specific health and safety programs, ensures compliance with all applicable codes and permits, and secures approvals from customers, interconnection providers, and local authorities. Progress is reported to internal and external stakeholders via the company’s project‑management platform.
Candidates must hold a BA/BS in Construction Management, Engineering (mechanical, civil, or electrical preferred) or a related field, and possess five to seven years of progressive experience in construction project engineering or management. Preferred experience includes utility‑scale photovoltaic systems over 25 MW, substation interconnections, land development, large‑scale earthwork, and industrial electrical subcontracting. Required skills encompass contract understanding, cost accounting, work‑plan execution, organization, safety focus, and the ability to adapt, multitask, and prioritize.
The role demands frequent travel—approximately 25 % of time—to diverse North American project sites with varying terrain and weather conditions, as well as occasional visits to company offices and client meetings. Physical requirements include standing and walking for long periods and the occasional ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
The salary range for this role is $93,400 to $155,700 annually, with a target range of $95,000 to $125,000. Compensation is determined based on internal equity, work and leadership experience, education, and, in some cases, geographic location.
