Senior Project Cost Engineer

Description

• Manage and assess accurately an enormous amount of information, identifying opportunities and early warnings on any potential deviation.
• Liaising with the Program Manager(s), Project Manager(s), Engineering, Procurement and Construction personnel in order to understand project issues and anticipate (and mitigate) their impact on the project's budget.
• Downloading budget, commitments, and actuals from SAP.
• Creating and maintaining Availability Control (AC) on WBS’s.
• Manage Purchase Requisition /Order Approval (from a cost control perspective, i.e. coding and budget).
• Defining standardization tools to ease the cost controls in the projects.
• Support projects ad hoc, when required.
• Implementing & maintaining the cost management control system/processes
• Generate the following reports:
• Supporting the month-end Value of Work Done (accruals/prepayments) process
• Creating and maintaining WBS structures.
• Provide reporting that allows comparison across projects and understanding the differences between them.
• Strong liaison with the internal and external stakeholders, to ensure the determination on the committed expenditure and update/interrogate current budget assumptions.
• Leading the month-end financial reporting process including variance cost analysis reporting.
• Develop the project’s cash flow reporting/forecasting process.
• Develop and implement the Change Control and Management Process/Procedures
• Preparing and reviewing project cost reports providing details on progress, actuals, forecast and explanation of variances, schedules updates and overall project dashboards and assemble data to consolidate.
• Implement and ensure cost control processes to report on estimates, expenditures and cost commitments accurately.

Requirements

• Commitment Reporting / Closing Down PO’s
• Ability to influence at various levels of the organization both internal and external.
• Degree qualified or equivalent qualifications / experience.
• Proven significant experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Eight (8) years of experience in relevant role
• Accurate, disciplined, data analysis expert.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven significant experience of IT applications (SAP, Microsoft Office, Document Management Systems)
