Collaborating with Product Management and Procurement to drive cost reductions and performance improvements
Conducting/overseeing prototype builds for compliance to specifications, efficiency, and reliability
Coordinating with external labs for compliance (safety, EMC/EMI, efficiency testing)
Evaluating and introducing new power semiconductors, passive components, manufacturing techniques, and design tools
Supporting the company’s Quality Management System (ISO 9001 and customer requirements)
Creating and maintaining documentation: BOMs, harness drawings, ECNs/EDNs, test procedures, and design packages
Ensuring compliance with UL, CE, IEC 61800-5-1, and IEEE 519 standards for variable speed drives
Selecting components (IGBTs, SiC/MOSFETs, gate drivers, magnetics, sensors, protection circuits) for drive applications
Troubleshooting and refining prototypes/final products for power density, thermal, and manufacturability targets
Have the ability to model motor-drive systems for design and validation.
Analyzing failure modes, reliability, and drive performance improvements
Creating electrical schematics and PCBAs for power stage, control boards, and gate driver circuits
Training and mentoring junior engineers on PCB, harness design, and VSD development practices
Managing prototype procurement, supplier quoting, ordering, and material inspection
Developing and executing VSD performance verification test plans (efficiency, harmonic distortion, thermal, EMI/EMC)
Developing mathematical models of motor-drive systems to guide design and validation
Designing Altium-based wire harnesses and cabling for drive systems, including BOM generation and routing optimization
Designing, developing, and testing variable speed drives, motor control circuits, and power electronic systems
Providing sustaining engineering support for existing VSD products and addressing field-return/production issues
Resolving failure issues and identifying root causes; qualify alternate components for obsolete or supply-chain constrained parts

Be proficient in tools like Altium Designer for PCB and harness design.
Have experience in designing variable speed drives (VSDs), motor control circuits, and power stages.
Be familiar with UL, CE, IEC 61800-5-1, IEEE 519, and EMI/EMC requirements.
Have experience in BOM creation, ECNs/EDNs, test procedures, and design packages.
Preferred to have experience with MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, or similar for system-level modeling.
Preferred to have experience in working with Product Management and Procurement for cost reduction.
Have prior experience in Root cause analysis, failure mode analysis, and qualification of alternate components.
Preferred to have experience in introducing new semiconductors, passive components, and design tools.
Have exposure to debugging prototypes and final products for power density, thermal, and manufacturability.
Have experience in developing and executing test plans for efficiency, harmonic distortion, thermal, and EMI/EMC.
Good to have exposure to managing prototype procurement, supplier quoting, and material inspection.
Desired to have experience in training junior engineers on PCB and VSD development practices.
Have understanding ISO 9001 and customer-specific quality requirements.
Have knowledge of IGBTs, SiC/MOSFETs, gate drivers, magnetics, sensors, and protection circuits.
Desired to have experience in handling compliance testing for safety, EMC/EMI, and efficiency.
Have understanding AC/DC motor types, control algorithms (FOC, V/f), and drive topologies.
Have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years relevant experience
Good to have experience in Altium-based harness and cabling design, routing optimization.
Have experience in creating schematics and PCB layouts for control boards and gate driver circuits.
