- Taking reasonable steps to check that the Contractors intending to carry out the work, have the necessary skills and experience.
- Initiate the Work Authorisation documentation on SHED and ensure all parties have completed their respective areas of the document/s
- Ensuring adequate time is allowed to plan, manage, monitor and coordinate the works, so that it can be carried out without risk to safety.
- Arrange and chair the Pre-Start meeting, ensuring any actions identified are documented and that the appropriate Work Authorisation documentation is completed before the work commences
- Ensuring appropriate arrangements are in place for undertaking site inspections
- Taking reasonable steps to confirm that all work being undertaken is carried out in accordance with the Work Authorisation procedure and any other associated procedures i.e. Isolation of Plant & Equipment and Management of Change
- Taking reasonable steps to check the specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are suitable and sufficient to ensure the work is carried out safely
