The LNG Operations Technician III leads critical tasks to maintain LNG facility equipment, ensuring regulatory compliance and overseeing cryogenic liquefaction and vaporization systems. The role provides exposure to cutting‑edge technology, team leadership, and skill development within the clean‑energy sector.
Core responsibilities include safely maintaining and supporting equipment, testing, calibrating, and validating process safety devices, and performing data analysis to resolve technical issues. The technician installs and maintains electrical systems such as switchgear, instrumentation, motor controls, PLCs, and both AC and DC power distribution, while also troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical components, including high‑voltage equipment and UPS systems.
A high school diploma or GED with at least two years of natural‑gas industry experience is required; an associate or two‑year technical degree and relevant licenses are preferred. Progression levels (Technician I–III) reflect increasing experience and education, with Technician I requiring at minimum six months of mechanical or controls experience.
The position demands a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to safety. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, process control systems, and programmable logic controllers is essential, and candidates must be able to pass a pre‑employment physical examination.
Work may involve extreme temperatures, loud noise, confined spaces, and lifting at least 50 lb, as well as climbing ladders or man lifts with appropriate PPE. Employees must be available for after‑hours, on‑call, night, weekend, holiday shifts, and occasional overtime or travel between Williams locations.
