The Business Development Specialist plays a critical role in advancing SBBCC’s growth strategy. This position is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, strengthening client and partner relationships, leading pursuit efforts, and supporting corporate marketing initiatives. The role requires a proactive, relationship-driven professional who can balance strategy, technical knowledge, and communication skills to successfully position SBBCC in a competitive marketplace.
- Proven ability to lead pursuits, develop proposals, and build client relationships.
- 10–15 years of progressive experience in business development or project acquisition, preferably in the A/E/C industry.
- Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Understanding of sustainability trends (NetZero, Passive House, Carbon Neutral, etc.) a plus.
- Experience with Design-Bid-Build, CM-at-Risk, PPEA and Design-Build delivery methods.
- Strong knowledge of construction markets such as multi-family, government, healthcare, education, life sciences, and commercial.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and PDF editing software (Bluebeam preferred).
