  • Employ strategies to avoid loss/restricted-time accidents.
  • Identify and control hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through safety management and collaboration with O&M leadership.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to position objects and operate tools or controls.
  • Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to maintain safety and prevent exposure to harmful materials.
  • Review documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted by established procedures, and implement appropriate corrective action as required.
  • Be in the field 50-75% of the time collaborating with operations site leadership and our third-party service providers to outline project safety goals and coordinating with subcontractors to verify they are adhering to LRE safety expectations.
  • Manage safety plans and goals to ensure objectives are being met. Develop plans to assist team in meeting goals.
  • Create and manage relationships with all job site employees to ensure safety program alignment and accountability for reporting safety issues.
  • Ensure safety policies and procedures are adhered to at assigned projects.
  • Lead and manage LRE third-party EHS Techs/Safety Managers.
  • The employee regularly is required to remain in a stationary position and move to access people or machinery or workspaces.
  • Act as a safety resource and mentor for LRE staff.
  • Employees are occasionally required to ascend and/or descend a ladder or stairs to reach work areas.
  • Employees view computer monitors regularly.
  • Partner with site leadership in the investigation and documentation of all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities.
  • Conduct work area inspections and audits to ensure continued compliance and monitor non-compliant findings to closure.

  • The employee must regularly move up to twenty pounds and occasionally move up to 50 pounds.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification required.
  • First aid and/or CPR certification preferred.
  • The employee is required to be able to effectively communicate while on the job site and throughout the completion of duties.
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience in construction, maintenance and/or industrial safety required.
  • Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification preferred.
  • The employee is occasionally required to position self to maneuver in confined or awkward spaces.
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and/or health required, Masters preferred.
  • The employee is regularly required to travel (as a vehicle driver and as a passenger on various modes of transportation) and frequently performs work on-site at construction sites.
  • Specific abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Employees use computer keyboards.
  • Will be required to work overtime and weekends as needs warrant.
  • Familiar with EHS Insight Incident Management software.
