The Company

About Drax Group

-It operates one of the UK’s largest power stations, originally coal‑fired in the 1970s and converted to biomass. -It sources, manufactures and ships wood pellets from North America to fuel its biomass operations, intertwining forestry, logistics and energy. -Key projects include biomass conversion trials (like willow co‑firing in 2004), development of hydro‑electric and pumped‑storage sites, and global pellet facilities. -Its expertise spans power generation, biomass supply chains, hydro storage, infrastructure logistics and renewable energy markets. -Notably, it markets ash by‑products for construction, turning waste into materials for roads and blocks—closing the loop on power‑by‑product use.
