Traveling 3D Scanning Technician

Description

The Traveling Scanning Technician joins the Reality Capture Team to produce on‑site visual documentation—such as 360° photography, Matterport scans, still photos, and drone imagery—blending technical precision with visual storytelling across locations throughout the United States.

• Capture 360° photos, Matterport scans, still images, and drone footage on site.
• Maintain consistent lighting, framing, and focus across diverse site conditions.
• Oversee field logistics, travel scheduling, and equipment management.
• Partner with internal teams to deliver high‑quality visual deliverables to clients.
• Identify and apply innovative techniques to raise reality capture standards.

Requirements

The role offers purpose by turning physical spaces into digital assets that inform design and construction decisions, and growth through hands‑on experience with emerging capture technologies, with pathways toward advanced Reality Capture, BIM, or visualization positions. It suits independent, curious, tech‑savvy individuals who enjoy travel and field problem‑solving.

• Demonstrated experience with Matterport scanning technology.
• Proficient in still photography and commercial drone operation; FAA Part 107 certified or able to obtain certification quickly.
• Strong technical skill with photography gear, drones, and associated software.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to travel for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Preferred: background in architecture, engineering, or construction industries.
• Preferred: familiarity with 3D modeling or photogrammetry tools.
• Preferred: experience in client‑facing or stakeholder collaboration roles.

Benefits

Compensation ranges from $60,000 to $70,000 annually, with eligibility for bonuses and reimbursement of work‑related travel expenses.
