The Technical Services Engineer (TSE) II serves as a technical expert on Integrated Solutions project delivery, providing authority and direction for energy conservation measures in retro‑commissioning activities. The role spans all phases of the commissioning process, collaborating with the engineer of record and project energy managers to optimize systems and develop solutions in the field. It also supports standards and process development, as well as training and mentorship of Technical Services staff. A TSE brings extensive MEP design and implementation expertise, especially in building automation and energy management.
- Provide technical assistance to pre‑engineering teams during data collection surveys.
- Lead site surveys to assess existing facility conditions and define scope requirements.
- Develop and integrate energy conservation strategies for retro‑commissioning projects.
- Review RFPs for equipment and services procurement to ensure alignment with project outcomes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams following best practices, company standards, and applicable codes.
- Review critical equipment and system submittals for contract conformance.
- Conduct commissioning and peer reviews of design documents.
- Advise project teams, with the engineer of record, on technical and resource needs.
- Assist with site visits to monitor progress, installation quality, and identify deficiencies.
- Troubleshoot equipment/system installation and setup issues.
- Provide technical support to implementation teams to meet project requirements.
- Optimize complex equipment/system upgrades.
- Identify execution gaps and create standards/processes to address them.
- Support or develop new tools for project execution.
- Solve system integration and operation challenges.
- Uphold ENFRA brand by ensuring excellence and a positive client experience.
- Perform duties with minimal supervision in a team problem‑solving environment.
- Lead, coach, and mentor Technical Services staff.
- Prepare technical reports and related documentation.
- Develop training material for Technical Services teams.
- Deliver post‑implementation on‑site operations and maintenance training.
- Inform business decisions while executing project assignments.
- Balance project constraints with required outcomes for the Technical Services organization.

This position requires up to 50 % travel to job sites or office locations and involves physical activities such as climbing ladders, stairs, and handling objects up to 50 lb. Work environments may include outdoor elements, noise, and periods of prolonged standing or sitting, with moderate physical demands.
- 6–10 years experience in engineering design, energy management, or retro‑commissioning.
- Professional Mechanical Engineering (PE) license.
- Expert technical knowledge of the subject matter.
- Strong verbal and written communication; customer/client orientation.
- Leadership ability to develop and mentor others.
- Proven problem‑solving and complex system analysis skills.
- Detail‑oriented with ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Ability to multitask and take on duties beyond scope when needed.
- Experience with central energy plant, healthcare, or higher education projects (preferred).
- Experience in chilled water, heating water, steam, and tower water systems (preferred).
- Hydronic system distribution project experience (preferred).
- Building automation, controls, and systems integration experience (preferred).
- Test and balance project experience (preferred).
- Energy management project experience (preferred).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit (preferred).
