The role involves inspecting, maintaining, and repairing all company‑owned or leased vehicles and equipment, including rolling stock, to ensure safe and efficient operation. The incumbent will provide daily functional direction to mechanics as needed and support plant operations across all shifts.
Key duties include overseeing maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety and OSHA standards, managing documentation such as equipment lists and maintenance histories, and collaborating with production and other departments to coordinate schedules and improve equipment performance.
Qualifications required are a high school diploma or GED, completion of company‑provided technical training, a valid DOT physical with drug screen, and at least three years of mechanical experience. Experience in waste‑transfer plants, First Aid/CPR certification, WHMIS knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to work flexible hours are considered assets.
