Maintenance Mechanic

Description

The third‑shift Maintenance Mechanic role is vital to keeping the campus operating safely and efficiently. The position involves hands‑on maintenance and repair across multiple mechanical systems, ensuring equipment reliability and supporting overall production.

• Perform machining, welding, carpentry, electrical, pipefitting, and plumbing work.
• Install and align machinery and equipment.
• Operate shop tools and heavy equipment such as lathes, mills, forklifts, and tractors.
• Maintain boilers, HVAC systems, and other essential infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical systems.
• Execute preventative maintenance and repairs safely and promptly.
• Collaborate with cross‑departmental teams.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Use hand and power tools; operate mills, lathes, and grinders.
• Apply basic math and measurement skills.
• Adhere to safety protocols and pursue continuous improvement.

Requirements

Ideal candidates are curious, self‑motivated, and eager to grow, possessing a basic understanding of industrial maintenance, the ability to read technical drawings, and strong communication skills. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with apprenticeship or technical training and relevant experience considered advantageous.

• Communicate clearly in written and verbal forms.
• Work in high or confined spaces while troubleshooting machinery.
• Hold a high school diploma or GED; apprenticeship or technical program preferred.
• Possess 0–4 years of experience for entry‑level or 4+ years for senior roles; industrial/manufacturing background is a plus.
