This is an opportunity to influence long-term water practice growth and strategic direction while leading and collaborating with a team of outstanding professionals.

  • Supports, participates in, and contributes to the national Water Market Segment strategic planning and execution
  • Leads a growing staff of engineers and technicians.
  • Directs business development and marketing efforts including oversight of positioning, proposal development, pricing, terms and conditions, contracts, and contract negotiations.
  • Supports recruiting efforts aligned with regional and national water market growth strategies
  • Establishes and successfully executes local and regional strategies aimed at sustained long-term growth of Dewberry’s water practice
  • Participates in personnel decisions and manages personnel.
  • Keeps informed of new methods and developments affecting the water business and recommends new practices or changes to internal programs.
  • Increases Dewberry’s visibility in the public sector water business through active participation in national, state and local professional associations and community organizations.
  • Fosters a team environment while leveraging assets of the west region and the Water Market Segment to position, win, and oversee successful execution of water project work.

The successful candidate will be an engineer with a diverse background and experience in developing and executing water and wastewater treatment, conveyance, storage, and pumping projects.

  • Strong client management and business development skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • B.S. Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering field; Master’s Degree in Engineering is a plus.
  • Successful track record of building client relationships in the water industry with a reputation for responsiveness and exceptional client service.
  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to coach and mentor staff.
  • Proven experience in planning, design and construction of water infrastructure.
  • Colorado or California Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain.
  • 20+ years’ experience with increasing levels of responsibility for public sector water work.
