We are seeking an experienced Excitation Technical Field Advisor (TFA) with strong PSS testing capability for several upcoming 2-week contract assignments taking place in England and Wales throughout 2026.
Competence in using diagnostic and testing tools, including signal injectors, oscillography equipment and commissioning software.
Practical experience with PSS (Power System Stabilizer) testing, tuning and parameter optimisation.
Strong technical knowledge of generator excitation systems, including AVR hardware, control logic and protection schemes.
Strong analytical and fault-finding skills during commissioning and operational phases.
Proven experience in commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of excitation and voltage-control equipment.
Understanding of power system dynamics, grid stability and generator response to disturbances.
Ability to produce accurate commissioning documentation, test records and technical reports.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and control schematics.
Knowledge of relevant power-plant electrical standards and safety regulations.
